Welcome to Southover Cottage bed and breakfast
It’s just ten minutes drive from the centre of Lewes, East Sussex, and is set in the quiet downland hamlet of Chiltington.
Our house is a 17thC Sussex cottage in the vernacular style with 18thC and 19thC additions. The cottage overlooks Warningore Wood towards Blackcap on the South Downs. We are right on the very edge of the South Downs National Park with a park entrance via a bridle path starting from our garden gate that crosses a curved footbridge into the park, the path then meanders gently through fields and woodland to join the South Downs Way at Blackcap.
We are just ten minutes by car from Lewes Castle, thirty from Brighton’s Royal Pavilion, twenty minutes from the University of Sussex, and from the Glyndebourne Opera, twenty five from the Dieppe ferry at Newhaven, and about ten more minutes from the spectacular Seven Sisters cliffs beyond Seaford Head.
